Islamorada Tarpon Fishing Charters
Tarpon fishing in the keys is a mix of finesse and sheer brute force! We offer Tarpon fishing charters on both day and evening trips. Tarpon are running through our area for a limited time, so when they’re migrating through, we’re hitting them hard! These are great trips for angler looking to land the fish of a lifetime in the sportfishing capital of the world.
Target Species
We’re targeting the legendary Silver King on light tackle for an exciting fight you’ll never forget. Once we locate a school, you’re on the bow of the boat casting. While you’re fishing, we’re fishing, and will have bait out the back to have everyone in your party hooked into fish. On these trips, it’s common to catch some monster Jack Crevalle and sharks.
Where We Fish
We’re targeting tarpon as they migrate through the area in deeper channels and around structure like bridges. A majority of these trips are usually no more than a 20-minute ride from our dock. We use spin tackle in the 20-40 lb. range. We primarily use live baits and at times soft plastic artificial lures.
What's Included
Your captain will have our 25′ Contenders rigged and ready for your fishing adventure. The cooler is loaded with ice and water. All tackle, gear, and live bait are covered. Your captain will handle landing the tarpon and getting you set up for a picture with your catch. We practice safe tarpon handling practices and do not handle these fish out of the water.
What To Bring
Come prepared for an exciting day of tarpon fishing off of Islamorada. Come dressed for the weather. We highly recommend spf clothing and a rain jacket if rain is forecasted. Bring lunch, snacks, and beverages for your group—we’ve got plenty of room in the cooler.
