About Us
Capt. Matt Bellinger
Originally from North Georgia, I've always been an angler and a diver. I was teaching scuba in Atlanta in my early 20's. At 26, I moved down to the Keys for a week and never came home.
My journey with these waters began on November 25, 1981, when I first explored the depths of Key Largo while scuba diving. Now, I'm eager to share this underwater paradise with you and your loved ones.
My passion for fishing was ignited during my childhood, thanks to my father and grandfather, George. We spent countless hours fishing the rivers, streams, lakes, and ponds of North Georgia. These early experiences instilled in me a deep appreciation for the sport and the natural world.
When I moved to the Florida Keys, I brought my love of fishing with me. Here, I've had the privilege of exploring the diverse marine ecosystems of the Keys and Everglades National Park. I'm excited to share my knowledge and expertise with you, creating unforgettable fishing experiences that combine the thrill of the catch with the beauty of the surroundings.
Join me and the talented captains of Bamboo Charters on your next trip to South Florida. We'll guide you through the stunning waters of the Florida Keys and Everglades National Park, ensuring a day of fishing and adventure that you'll cherish for years to come.

Our Team

Capt. Joey Murphy
Capt. Joey is the sasquatch we caught, shaved, and taught to fish. He's a gentle giant, talented angler, and knows every word to every Disney/Pixar song. Originally from the Space Coast, he's a true guide in every sense of the world. Joey has been with us for eight years and loves teaching folks how to fish.

Capt. Eddie Yarborough
Eddie “Roll Tide” Yarborough is a dyed-in-the-wool Alabama football fan. A professional banker turned fishing guide, Eddie and his son have cut their teeth offshore of Lauderdale and on the Skiff in Flamingo. He’s been guiding down here for six years with over two decades of experience fishing the Everglades.

Capt. Eric Rodriguez
Capt. Eric grew up in the shadow of Long Key Bridge, cutting his teeth tarpon fishing between Channel Two and Channel Five. His favorite fish is tarponredfishsnook, yes, all one word. He's a live bait fishing fanatic and like all of our guides is great with families and kids.

Capt. Riley Holden
Capt. Riley will come into the dock after a day of guiding, clean the boat, then hop in his skiff and head back out to the backcountry. Growing up in Canada, he cut his teeth trout fishing in Idaho, spending college summers guiding out there. He's always got a fly rod handy and loves teaching people how to fly fish.
